Alum Kara Adams wins 2025 Lisa Byington Award
Kara Adams, BA’25, has been named the winner of the 2025 Lisa Byington Award, which is presented annually to one of the top broadcasters in the Big Ten Network Student U program. This is the first time a Media School student has been named the recipient of the award.
Adams was actively involved with the Big Ten Plus program during her time at The Media School and served as the co-sports director for IUSTV Sports. She also interned as a reporter for WDRB News in Louisville conducting interviews, writing package scripts, and recording voice-overs.
As the award winner, Adams will have the opportunity to work with Big Ten Network producers, announcers, and consultants to record segments at the Big Ten Network’s studios and work on a demo reel.
