IU Big Ten StudentU program wins two BIG+ Awards

Indiana University’s Big Ten StudentU program won two honors in the 2025-26 BIG+ Awards, earning recognition for Best Open and Best Game Coverage — Winter. The awards highlight the professional-level work students contribute to IU Athletics broadcasts while building skills in live production, storytelling and sports media.
The student production team received the Best Open award for its work on the Indiana women’s volleyball broadcast against Nebraska. Nebraska was ranked number one at the time of the matchup. The program also earned Best Game Coverage — Winter for its broadcast of the Indiana women’s basketball game against Penn State.

The StudentU program gives students in The Media School hands-on experience in sports broadcasting. Students produce, direct, and announce live Indiana Hoosiers sporting events that stream globally on B1G+ StudentU Productions.
The fourth annual awards were announced June 24-26 on BIG+’s X and Instagram accounts, where viewers can watch clips of the winning broadcasts.
