Facilities and Resources

The Institute for Communication Research (ICR) has conducted research investigating the Media Arts & Sciences at Indiana University since 1971.


The ICR includes a variety of research spaces utilized by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to conduct media research. The spaces include:

  • Four psychophysiological data collection labs
  • Two survey research rooms
  • Focus group room
  • Interview room
  • Data analysis room (equipped with digital video and audio editing suites)
  • Conference room

The spaces in the ICR are equipped with physiology, eye tracking, and facial coding analysis software, along with numerous other cutting-edge research tools such as Snapstream.
